Lavrio shatters AEK's unbeaten record in Basket League
Lavrio ended AEK's perfect record upsetting its visitor on Sunday, to cap a strong showing of the team coached by Christos Serelis over the last few weeks.
AEK's winning run ended at Lavrio with a 78-70 score, despite Yanick Moreira's 30 points and eight rebounds on the night, in the last league game in 2020.
Fresh Basket League wins for Greens and AEK
Panathinaikos and AEK extended their perfect records at the Basket League after tricky games for both of them during the weekend, while PAOK won the Thessaloniki derby against Aris.
Panathinaikos shook off its home loss on Friday to Zalgiris Kaunas for the Euroleague beating visiting Peristeri 76-57 on Sunday, as the Greens' coach Giorgos Vovoras beat his mentor, Argyris Pedoulakis.

Lavrio upsets leader Peristeri in Basket League
Basket League leader Peristeri got upset at home to hitherto winless Lavrio on Saturday and is joined at the top of the table by AEK and Iraklis, though these three teams have not played the same number of games. AEK and Panathinaikos remain the teams with a perfect record to date.

Panathinaikos and AEK extended their unbeaten runs in the Basket League with easy wins over the weekend, that saw five out of the six scheduled matches take place. Promitheas and Peristeri had to work hard to beat their opponents from Thessaloniki.
PAO defeat Olympiakos (71-58) in Greek basketball final
The Greek basketball league title will be decided in a a fifth and final game, after Panathinaikos defeated their arch-rivals Olymiakos at OAKA stadium (71-58) tying the finals series (2-2). The greens dominated the match throughout with playmaker Nikos Calathes leading his team with 14 points to its second victory in the best of five series.
Panathinaikos downs Olympiakos, sets up final with Aris
Panathinaikos and Aris will contest the 2017 Greek Cup Final on February 19, as the Greens scored their first win over Olympiakos this season after three defeats - and away from home too - while Aris overcame AEK in Thessaloniki with a last-gasp effort.

Greens recover to beat European champion Maccabi

Panathinaikos came from behind to defeat European champion Maccabi Tel Aviv 83-76 in Athens on Tuesday in its opening game for the top-16 of the Euroleague.
Victory was crucial for Panathinaikos as it could hardly afford to lose its opening home game in this ever-so-tight group in the second stage of the competition.
