An outspoken half-brother of Jordan's king relinquished his princely title Sunday in apparent protest over how the country is run. It was the latest chapter in an ongoing palace feud that saw the junior royal placed under house arrest a year ago.

Mediation between Jordan's King Abdullah II and his outspoken half brother, Prince Hamzah, successfully de-escalated one of the most serious political crises in the kingdom in decades, the palace and a confidant of the prince said on April 5.

Jordan's official media warned on April 4 that security and stability are a "red line", a day after several senior figures were detained and a half-brother of King Abdullah II said he was put under house arrest.

Hamza Bin Laden, the son of the founder of the al-Qaeda terrorist network - Osama Bin Laden, was killed during an air strike.

This is claimed by US media, citing their intelligence sources. It is not clear exactly when and where Hamza died, but it is believed that this has happened in the last two years.

The Pentagon did not comment on the information.

The Syrian citizen Imad Al-Husin better known as Abu Hamza on Thursday told the TV network Aljazeera Balkans that he may file a lawsuit against the Bosnian authorities for keeping him for more than seven years in detention, on suspicion that he represented a threat to national security.

"I challenge the Bosnian authorities to hold a fair trial," Al-Husin told Aljazeera.

Imad Al-Husin, a Syrian citizen better known as Abu Hamza, was released on Thursday after having been held without trial for more than seven years in the immigration centre of Lukavica, on the periphery of Sarajevo.

"Our father has just returned home after more than seven years," one of his daughters, Nudzejma Softic, wrote on Thursday on Facebook.

Imad al-Husin, better known as Abu Hamza, who has been detained without trial at the Lukavica immigration centre of under suspicion of representing a threat to Bosnian national security, will be soon released, his lawyer said on Thursday.

"Abu Hamza could be released in February," Nedim Kulenovic, the lawyer from the NGO Vasa Prava, which is representing al-Husin, told BIRN.
