The health ministry is starting to listen about proposals from the non-government sector to impose more drastic sanctions for breaching the ban on smoking in indoor public places. In the event of a systematic breach of the smoking ban, the facility will be shut down for a specified period of time. This includes amendments to the Health Act, prepared by the Ministry of Health.
Two police officers injured in shootout
Two police officers were injured in a shootout with a 37-year-old man on Monday night in the town of Arta in western Greece.
According to police, the incident occurred after the 37-year-old opened fire with a rifle, for unknown reasons, on a car with a couple and their child on board.
