Deputy PM: Muftis being given right to carry out marriages 'not a violation of secularism'
A draft law granting muftis and civil servants of the Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) the right to register and perform marriages is not a violation of secularism, Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdağ has said, denying claims that marriages will be held at mosques.

Sexual, physical violence against disabled people on the rise in Turkey: Report
Sexual and physical violence against people with disabilities have been on the rise since 2013 in Turkey, according to a report by the Social Rights and Research Association (TOHAD).
TOHAD based its findings in its report from 2012 to 2016 on a total of around 285,000 news articles and court decisions from around the country.

Police arrested the priest on July 20 following an investigation which determined the man was texting material of explicit sexual content to a 14-year-old boy via viber, Facebook messenger on a daily basis.

Macedonia Moves to Make Smokers' Lives Easier
