President Klaus Iohannis has launched, on Saturday, a call to all Romanians to attend the Night of Museums event as a way to rediscover the national patrimony and has addressed to Bucharesters especially the invitation to visit the Cotroceni National Museum on the grounds of the Cotroceni Palace, the seat of the presidency.

AGERPRES special correspondent Catalin Alexandru reports: President Klaus Iohannis has stated on Saturday that the meeting he had on the previous day with Pope Francis was an "emotional and very good" meeting, adding that among the topics of discussion were the situation in Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and the migration phenomenon of Northern Africa.

Pope Francis has accepted President Klaus Iohannis's invitation to visit Romania at a date that will be subsequently agreed upon, informs the Presidential Administration in a Friday release.

AGERPRES correspondent Catalin Alexandru reports: Pope Francis received President Klaus Iohannis in Vatican on Friday; the Romanian head of state was accompanied by his wife, Carmen, and by an official delegation.

The centre-left government of Prime Minister Victor Ponta is to pass an emergency ordinance banning the export of unprocessed wood next week.

Approx. 60 per cent of the Romanians believe that the government should stay in office until the term actually expires and that Romania needs a new Constitution, an Inscop Research poll revealed on Friday.
