It is essential to hold a discussion about the housing crisis, especially when this is conducted with some empathy and understanding, as was the case in Parliament Wednesday, when Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis answered a question on the issue from PASOK chief Nikos Androulakis.

The government is about to increase the threshold for the Golden Visa program to 800,000 euros in some cases, while maintaining the lower limit of €250,000 euros in areas of less interest and activating financial tools for the utilization of vacant properties.

The government intends to create some 200,000 jobs across the economy during its four-year mandate, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Friday.

The Greek premier took part in a dialogue at a gathering co-hosted by New Democracy and the European People's Party under the theme "The Road to Recovery" in Athens.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is scheduled to meet with representatives of Greece's protesting farmers at Maximos Mansion on Tuesday at noon, Kathimerini understands.

Ten representatives are slated to attend the talks, with their names expected to be announced shortly.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' meeting with farmer representatives will reportedly take place on Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning after his return from Belgrade, provided they lift their roadblocks on the national highway network. The date is expected to be finalized on Friday. 

In a meeting at the Maximos Mansion on Thursday, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with Manfred Weber, President and Head of the European People's Party (EPP). 

Weber's visit to Greece included participation in an event co-organized by the Greek ruling party New Democracy and the EPP. 

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis "is willing to meet [the protesting farmers] on Monday," provided they lift their road blocks on the national highway network, government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis said on Thursday.

Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, President of the Parliament Konstantinos Tasoulas and ministers toured the Bank of Greece's vault which was recently upgraded with new security systems, as guests of its governor, Yannis Stournaras. The vault stores 71 of the 151 tons of Greece's gold.

Representatives of protesting farmers on Monday said that they are unhappy with the government's proposals on addressing their various issues and will announce how their protests will proceed on Tuesday.
