BELGRADE - International relations today call for a resolute foreign policy in defence of Serbian state interests, which is closely tied to the relations with Russia, FM Ivica Dacic said at the Rectorate of the University of Belgrade Thursday.

"Serbia cannot defend its national and state interests without Russia's help," he said, addressing professors and students.

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will meet with Russian FM Sergey Lavrov in Belgrade on Wednesday.

The presidential press office has announced Vucic and Lavrov would meet at Vila Mir at 6.30 pm.

At the meeting, it was jointly estimated that economic cooperation is on the rise, especially in the field of energy, and that it is necessary to put emphasis on projects concerning infrastructure, transport and agriculture in the future.

Some NATO and EU member states seek to raise tensions in Europe, making the situation in the region unhealthy, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Thursday, following talks with his Serbian counterpart Ivica Dacic.
