Leros is quiet and tranquil. The little seaside cafes are not crowded; there is a fresh breeze. It is nice to be away from Bodrum's maddening crowd and traffic, all so unbearable with late July's suffocating heat wave.

Miranda Kerr visited the Turkish resort town of Datça a few days ago, stopping by the tiny town as part of her yacht trip. 

The 32-year-old model was travelling with her friends and sister when she visited Datça, a district of Mu?la province that lies on the shores of Aegean Sea.

Hundreds of third country nationals continued, on a daily basis, to land or reach close enough to several of Greece’s eastern Aegean islands in order to attract the attention of the coast guard and be escorted to Greek territory.

GENEVA, June 5 (UNHCR) – The UN refugee agency on Friday said it was stepping up its field presence in the eastern Aegean islands of Greece where sea arrivals in recent weeks from Turkey have been averaging some 600 people a day, straining local reception capacities.

A 21-year-old Afghan migrant crawled under an Italy-bound bus in an attempt to smuggle himself out of the country, but was killed when his body was caught in the axle of the vehicle.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Tuesday at Greece?s northwestern port of Igoumenitsa.
