New ship launched! Samos linked with N. Aegean, Dodecanese

The “Dodekanisos Pride” high-speed ship on the new line, owned and operated by Dodekanisos Seaways, will link Samos with islands of the north Aegean and Dodecanese.

The new ship was inaugurated during a special launching ceremony on Thursday at Pythagorio, the main port of Samos. Metropolitan Eusebios of Samos led a blessing ceremony attended by local government officials, including mayors from the islands served.

The ship left Samos for Fourni, the southernmost island of the North Aegean region, arriving in 50 minutes amid great celebration including a gathering of officials and students, and fireworks that paid tribute to its maiden voyage. It left Fourni for Patmos, where it was also greeted with enthusiasm and dance and music.

The “Dodekanisos Pride” is scheduled to have three runs a week, from Pythagorio, and return the same day after stopping at Ikaria, Fourni, Agathonisi, Arkii, Patmos, Leipsi, Leros, Kalymnos, Kos and Patmos.
