Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic received on Friday the newly appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Serbia Archbishop Luciano Suriani.

Vucic welcomed Suriani and wished him success in his diplomatic work, expressing at the same time his gratitude for Vatican's principled position not to recognize the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo.

Roman Catholic Pope Francis has appointed Archbishop Luciano Suriani, delegate for papal diplomatic representations, as apostolic nuncio in Serbia.

The Holy See press office announced this on Monday, according to Tanjug.
