Although the European Medicines Agency approved the AstraZeneca vaccine for use and although Germany procured 1.4 million doses of that vaccine from the British-Swedish company, only less than 190.000 doses were used, which is about 13 percent. However, the German chancellor finally "sealed" vaccine's destiny.

US, EU say vaccine programs on track as global deaths hit 2.5 mln

Turkey moving to second stage in vaccination drive
Turkey is moving to the second stage in its massive vaccination program against COVID-19 that was rolled out on Jan. 14.
In the first stage of the inoculation drive, health care staff, people aged over 65, the disabled, adults living in crowded places, and those living at nursing homes received the Chinese vaccine Sinovac.

Vaccination campaign against COVID-19/28,217 persons immunised in past 24 hours
The National Committee for Vaccination against COVID (CNCAV) informs that, in the past 24 hours, 28,217 doses of vaccine have been administered, of which 18,480 - Pfizer, 7 - Moderna and 9,730 - AstraZeneca, according to data provided by the National Institute of Public Health (INSP), through the National Electronic Register of Vaccinations application.
