MAE's Aurescu: Romania, firmly committed to making Deveselu base operational in 2015

State Secretary for Strategic Affairs with Romania's Foreign Ministry (MAE) Bogdan Aurescu on Tuesday attended an international conference on missile defence in Mainz, Germany, where he reiterated Romania's strong commitment to making the Deveslu Military base facility operational around 2015.

NATO chief visiting Turkey amid Mosul security crisis

NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen is set to arrive for talks in Turkey, as efforts continue to secure the safe release of dozens of Turkish nationals taken hostage by a jihadist group in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.

During his visit to Ankara on June 16, Rasmussen will meet both President Abdullah Gül and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Military envoys in Brazil, Poland, Angola, UAE

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic met on Friday with officers who will assume the duty of military envoys in eight countries in the next few months.

As of this year, Serbia will, for the first time, have military envoys in Brazil, Poland, Angola and the United Arab Emirates, while four officers will take over regular duties in China, Romania, Algeria and Croatia.
