First step toward transformation of Athenian Riviera
The first step toward the rejuvenation of the so-called Athens Riviera was taken on Tuesday with the transfer of 20 properties covering a total of of 3.64 square kilometers to special purpose company Attica Coastline SA.

The Court of Audit ruled on Tuesday that Panathinaikos soccer club should not receive 7 million euros from the Attica Regional Authority to improve its stadium at Alexandras Avenue in central Athens.

Christos Chomenidis resigned from the supervisory board of NERIT on Monday, citing "direct government intervention" in the state broadcaster's decision not to air live a speech by opposition leader Alexis Tsipras at the Thessaloniki International Fair on Saturday.
Tsipras to visit TIF over the weekend
Opposition leader and SYRIZA chief Alexis Tsipras is expected to visit the 79th edition of the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) in the northern port city over the weekend.
The opposition heads agenda includes meetings with TIF-Helexpo management officials and unionists as well as visits to the fairs pavilions.

Thessaloniki surgeon accused over bribe
The chief of the childrens surgery unit at the Georgios Gennimatas hospital in the northern port city of Thessaloniki was arrested late on Wednesday over charges of allegedly demanding a 1,000 euro bribe in order to operate on a 20-year-old patient.

Stormy weather leads to power cuts in Thessaloniki
A morning storm in Thessaloniki caused several power cuts across the northern city on Wednesday, including in the areas of Peraia, Panorama and Chortiatis, among others.
Meanwhile, traffic resumed on the old Thessaloniki-Edessa national highway on Wednesday after a ban was imposed by police when debris was detected on the road following heavy rainfall in the area on Tuesday.

Navy's Prometheus brings doctors to remote Aegean islands
Naval support ship Prometheus will be touring the Dodecannese in the eastern Aegean from September 3-11 in order to provide residents of remote islands with primary healthcare, the Hellenic Navy reported on Tuesday.
