Montenegro changes its history:"Serbia cancelled Montenegro"

According to the interpretation by the current Montenegro government and some historians, the Great National Assembly of the Serb People in Montenegro in 1918, known as Podgorica Assembly was organized contrary to the former Montenegro Constitution and its legal system.

Montenegro Seeks to Lure More Russian Tourists

Montenegro's tourism business is gearing up for the summer, expecting more Russian tourists than in previous years.

On Thursday, the tourism authorities presented the country's offer at the largest Moscow travel and tourism fair, MITT, saying that, "trends show that more Russian tourists are interesting to visit Montenegro."

Montenegro's ruling DPS party wants its leader Milo Djukanovic to be a candidate in the presidential elections in 2018.

The Podgorica-based daily Pobjeda writes that the DPS main board will meet to consider this by the end of the month - and that the mood "at all party levels" is "unanimously" in favor of Djukanovic running.

Montenegro bans 149 Russians and Ukrainians from entry

After Moscow's decision to ban entry to that country of some senior officials of Montenegro, Podgorica has responded with similar measures.

Namely, Montenegro has decided to ban 149 nationals of Russia and Ukraine from entry, because of, as stated, the role of Russia in the Ukraine crisis and the annexation of Crimea.

Montenegrin PM, dozens more blacklisted by Russia

Montenegrin PM Dusko Markovic, Assembly President Ivan Brajovic, and ruling DPS leader Milo Djukanovic are among the officials on Kremlin's "black list."

Podgorica-based daily Pobjeda writes that they are banned from entering Russia.

Citing diplomatic sources, the newspaper said that the list includes government ministers and MPs who supported Montenegro's membership in NATO.

Germany Tells Montenegrins to Stay at Home

The German ambassador in Montenegro, Gudrun Steinacker, on Monday said Montenegrin citizens planning to live and work in Germany illegally will "certainly fail to succeed".

She said it was difficult to obtain accurate data on the number of citizens from the north of Montenegro who had gone to Germany to find jobs but noted that "a few thousand people are being mentioned in public.
