Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an has condemned Israeli forces? targeting of Muslim groups inside Jerusalem?s Al-Aqsa mosque compound, pledging to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas that Ankara will continue to strive to boost international awareness of the plight of the Palestinians, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

The construction of the building that is being erected in place of Istanbul?s historic Emek Theater was halted with a stay of execution decision, as it was not being built according to the original project.

The claim is that the construction was damaging the adjacent historic buildings.

Turkey condemned Israel’s decision to expand its settlements further inside occupied East Jerusalem.

The death toll in Tuesday's deadly terrorist attack at a Jerusalem synagogue has risen to five.

30-year-old police officer Zidan Nahad Seif, who had been shot during the attack, died Tuesday night in hospital, according to reports of Haaretz.

Two Palestinians armed with a meat cleaver and a gun killed four people in a Jerusalem synagogue on Tuesday before being shot dead by police, reports Reuters.

According to CNN reports, the men came from East Jerusalem and also had a handgun.

Six other people were wounded during the attack in the Har Nof area of West Jerusalem including two responding police officers.

A Palestinian bus driver was found hanged in his vehicle in west Jerusalem overnight, in what Israeli police said was an apparent suicide but a colleague said looked like murder.
      
A police statement on Monday said that the driver, whom it did not identify, was a resident of Al-Tur, on the Mount of Olives in annexed east Jerusalem.        

Israel will never agree to limit its construction activity in annexed east Jerusalem, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said on Nov. 16.
      
"One thing should be clear: we will never accept the definition of building in Jewish neighbourhoods of Jerusalem as settlement activity," he said at a news conference with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
      

Men of all ages will be allowed to attend the main weekly Muslim prayers Friday at Jerusalem's flashpoint Al-Aqsa mosque compound for the first time in "months", a police spokesman said.
      
"No age limit on the Temple Mount, we're hoping things will be calm and quiet today," spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld told AFP.
      

An Israeli planning committee on Nov. 12 approved plans to build 200 homes in a Jewish settlement neighbourhood of annexed east Jerusalem, a city councillor told AFP.

Arab east Jerusalem has been shaken by months of clashes and city councillor Yosef Pepe Alalu told AFP that plans to build in the Ramot neighbourhood would cause further tensions.

Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş is set to attend a meeting in Morocco to discuss the Palestinian issue, at which an “action plan” on the issue of the al-Aqsa Mosque will be adopted, Turkey’s Foreign Ministry said in a written statement on Nov. 12.
