The Ministry of Interior Reinforces the Control of Drivers under the Influence of Drugs
The Ministry of the Interior has announced a public procurement contract for the purchase of 4165 cartridges for small-scale devices to check the use of drugs by drivers. Reports Sega.
The value of the order is over BGN 115 000 without VAT. 2000 cartridges have to be delivered to the Traffic Police authorities within 60 days of the conclusion of the contract.

Kindergarten teacher among detainees in drug gang bust in Istanbul
A female suspect (30), who was among five detained in a police operation against a drug gang on Aug. 24, has been determined to be a kindergarten teacher at a private school.
The suspect had been undertaking in courier services for the drug gang, according to police records.

Greek authorities have arrested a man for receiving illegal drugs through the mail with intent to sell them to others.
Officers of the Greek Police's anti-narcotics unit began investigating a 66-year-old Polish native after Belgian authorities alerted them to two suspicious packages destined for an address in the Athens neighborhood of Dafni.

Turkey adds 7.8 percent tax to alcoholic beverages, further price hikes expected
An additional 7.8 percent special consumption tax has been added for alcoholic beverages in July, automatically in line with Turkey's producer price index in the first half of the year.
The government announced last week that tobacco products would not see any tax hike in the second half of the year over inflationary concerns, but it did not mention alcoholic beverages.
