Antic: No plans for electricity price increases
OBRENOVAC - There are no plans whatsoever at this time for electricity price increases, says Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic.
The priorities of the national electric power company EPS are completely different, Antic said during a tour of the Nikola Tesla B coal-fired power plant in Obrenovac on Sunday.

Mihajlovic: Infrastructure projects will be priority
BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy PM and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic expects the focus of the government in the coming period to be on finishing infrastructure projects.
She says three sections of the rail Corridor 10 will be finished in March 2017.
PM says "very favorable" conditions secured in China
Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic stated on Thursday that a memorandum has been inked in China on the construction of two sections of Corridor 11.

BELGRADE -- The Interior Ministry has incinerated about 446 kilograms of illegal narcotics and other psychoactive substances at the Nikola Tesla power plant in Obrenovac.
In a statement, the MUP said that the value of the drugs was around a billion Serbian dinars (RSD) - about EUR 8.3 million.

Chinese want "guarantees, not concession"
BELGRADE -- Zorana Mihajlovic says Serbia is conducting "difficult negotiations with Chinese on a concession on parts of a highway from Belgrade to the Montenegrin border."
The Serbian minister of construction, transport and infrastructure spoke on Monday to add that the talks have so far lasted a month and a half.

Japan donates EUR 78,000 to Obrenovac
Japanese Ambassador to Serbia Masafumi Kuroki presented a donation of the Japanese government worth EUR 77,995 to the retirement home in Obrenovac.
The donation consists of equipment that should provide better conditions for nursing home residents.

362 kilos of drugs burned at power plant
BELGRADE -- 362 kilograms of drugs worth some EUR 7.5 million were burned at the thermal power plant Nikola Tesla in Obrenovac on Thursday.
The disposal of the illegal narcotics was overseen by a government commission set up for this purpose.

Canada ensures USD 500,000 for Serbia
OBRENOVAC - Canadian Ambassador Philip Pinnington stated that his country's government has ensured additional USD 500,000 for the recovery in Serbia after the last year's flashing floods.
The funds will be directed where most necessary via UNOPS and would be used for recovery of the facilities damaged in the floods, Pinnington said during his visit to Obrenovac.
