Empty columns and Turkish media
Every Monday is a new source of sorrow for me. My pieces are printed on daily Hürriyet's ombudsman's column section, but daily Cumhuriyet ombudsman Güray Öz's column has been empty for weeks. Öz has been in prison for the past 92 days along with the other writers and administrators of Cumhuriyet.

80% of Syrian Refugees To Remain in Turkey
About 20% of the nearly 3 million Syrian refugees residing in Turkey are expected to return to their homes, reported BTA.
The largest number, however, will most probably remain in Turkey, announced at a press conference Turkey's Ombudsman Şeref Malkoç.

Opposition Democrats back Sasa Jankovic for president
The presidency of the Democratic Party (DS) has decided to support the presidential bid of Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic.
According to DS leader Dragan Sutanovac, Jankovic "personifies those values that the DS stands for."

Complaints Against Toplofikatsiya Sofia Increase by 216% in One Year
Filed complaints against Toplofikatsiya Sofia have increased by 216% in one year, announced Ombudsman Maya Manolova.
In the last twelve months, 908 clients have filed a complaint against Toplofikatsiya Sofia. As expected, the largest number of complaints was submitted against monopoly ventures and public services providers.

Bulgarian Ombudsman Maya Manolova has said she is ready to refer to the Constitutional Court as early as Monday, October 17, on sections of voting legislation that she believes curbs the rights of Bulgarians abroad.
Vulin: 6,520 Filed Charges of Violence against Children
Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Aleksandar Vulin says that 6,520 charges of violence against children had been filed last year.
He added that the ministry would soon propose a law on children's ombudsman, so as to raise the protection of children to the highest level.
