Serbian ombudsman receives French honor

BELGRADE -- Citizens' Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic on Monday evening received the National Order of Merit of France at the class of knight.

Ombudsman: Insufficient media freedom

Ombudsman reacts to postponement of B92 program

BELGRADE -- Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic has expressed great concern over the postponement of B92 TV's new investigative program because of fear for the safety of journalists.

The second episode of the Reporter series was due to be broadcast on Monday, but was postponed until further notice.

Bulgaria's Supreme Administrative Court (VAS) has refused to issue an interpretative ruling on whether the so-called Files' Commission (examining the Communist era secret services' files - editor's note) is authorized to disclose collaborators of the communist-era State Security (DS) on the basis of "cards" only.
