Athens gains ground as luxury real estate destination

Real estate prices keep inching higher
The return of foreign buyers, redevelopment projects and expectations due to metro extensions are seen as the main driving forces behind the rise in asking prices in 2022 for real estate in central, northern and southern Athens.

Olympic flame starts an uncertain journey
Greek gymnast Lefteris Petrounias, Olympic gold medalist and world champion, carries the Olympic torch during the flame handover ceremony for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens on Thursday. The ceremony took place without spectators as a precaution amid the continuing spread of the coronavirus.

Korakaki to be first-ever woman to kick off Olympic torch relay
Greek Olympic shooting champion Anna Korakaki will be the first-ever woman to be the first to carry the Olympic Flame, the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) announced on Thursday.
Charity Concert | Athens | September 9
Skai TV's annual concert in aid of the Oloi Mazi Boroume (Together We Can) social campaign, which provides help and support to the people worst affected by Greece's economic crisis, returns to the Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro) on Monday, with a tribute to the 72-year-old Greek composer and bouzouki master Christos Nikolopoulos.

Theodorakis Tribute | Athens | June 24
Some 200 musicians and singers will be joining forces for a tribute to the celebrated Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis on Monday, June 24, in aid of the Elpida charity for children with cancer. The event at the Panathenaic (Kallimarmaro) Stadium features the Mikis Theodorakis Orchestra, along with guest singers and soloists, in an evening of the composer's greatest hits.
