Vintage Cars | Athens | January 22
The PHILPA Friends of Classic Cars club will be holding its annual display of vintage cars and motorcycles at the Panathenaic (Kallimarmaro) Stadium on Sunday, January 22. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., fans will be able to inspect the vehicles inside and out, chat with their owners and mingle with like-minded souls, free of charge.

Marathon cheats: Taking the medal without breaking a sweat
The photograph of him crossing the finish line of the Athens Authentic Marathon on November 13 is still making the rounds on the web. With a cap and sunglasses hiding his features, and a tight black T-shirt accentuating his portly figure, the 47-year-old seemed to breeze through the last few meters into the Panathenaic Stadium. His time was 3 hours and 31 minutes.

The Olympic flame began its journey from Greece to Rio, Brazil in a modest yet imposing ceremony held at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, Wednesday. The holy flame was handed to the ‘Rio 2016’ Organising Committee from the Greek Olympic Committee.

The Greek capital's Panathenaic Stadium, which hosted the first modern Olympics, will be lit up in the colors of the Brazilian flag Wednesday evening as part of the Olympic Flame handover ceremony, from the birthplace of the Games to 2016 host Rio de Janeiro.
Let’s run for the children
More than 15,000 people have registered to take part in the 29th Tour of Athens charity run organized by Athens Sports, Culture and Youth Organization which will take place in Athens on Sunday.
This year it seeks to raise awareness for children suffering from epilepsy and raise money for a EEG for the Aghia Sophia Children’s Hospital neurology department.
