Israeli hotel group expanding presence in Cyprus

New major investment plans in Cyprus are under way by Fattal Hotel Group, the largest hospitality organization in Israel and one of the fastest-growing hotel groups - with 270 units in 117 destinations. It is now further expanding its portfolio in Cyprus. 

The company owns nine hotel units in Paphos, Larnaca, Protaras and Limassol.

A Cyprus court on Monday sentenced a British man who killed his ailing wife in their retirement home to two years in prison, rejecting a defense request to hand down a suspended sentence after convicting him earlier of manslaughter.

Demand bolsters house prices in Cyprus

Housing prices in Cyprus continued along their upward trajectory in the fourth quarter of 2022, driven by increased construction costs and higher demand. According to the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC), the Residential Property Price Index (RPPI) recorded a year-on-year increase of 6.6%, surpassing the 6.3% rise observed in the previous quarter in 2022.
