Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on July 9 called on the rector of Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ) to hear out the students protesting the cutting down of trees for the construction of a dormitory on campus.

Secretary general of the PSD (Social Democratic Party) Mihai Fifor on Monday evening told the RTV private broadcaster that the PSD Congress to establish this party's candidate for the presidential elections will be held on August 3.
Rating firms speak of favorable outlook
Rating agencies pointed to a positive outlook after New Democracy's victory in Sunday's election.

Stelios Petsas selected as government spokesman
Stelios Petsas, previously the director of newly sworn in Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' office, has been appointed government spokesman, state-run news agency ANA-MPA reported on Monday.
Petsas will announce the members of New Democracy's cabinet at 7 p.m., according to the report.
