The party has a structural fault. It supported staying in the EU, but when the people voted in the referendum to leave, it divided between those who accepted the result and those who want to fight it.

UK Govt Cannot Trigger Brexit Alone, Supreme Court Says

The Supreme Court of Britain has ruled that the government cannot trigger Article 50 and initiate the withdrawal from the European Union without consent of Parliament.

The decision, which turns down a government's appeal of the ruling of a lower-instance court, has been approved by a distinct majority of 8 to 3 votes, according to the Guardian.

UK Permanent Reprsentative to EU Resigns Suddenly

The permanent representative of the UK to the EU Ivan Rogers has resigned suddenly just a few months before Prime Minister Theresa May launches the negotiations for the exit of the country from the EU.

According to Financial Times, Rogers informed embassy staff on Tuesday afternoon that he is leaving his post. He did not specify any reasons for this decision.

Infrastructure key to Britain's first post-Brexit budget: Gov't

Britain's first post-Brexit budget will focus on infrastructure and could spell an end to the previous government's rigid fiscal targets, according to a treasury statement released on Nov. 20.

The budget will be new finance minister Philip Hammond's first set-piece since replacing George Osborne who resigned following the June vote.

British PM: Brexit Is Going on Schedule

British Prime Minister Theresa May has assured that the preparation of Brexit is going on schedule and that the legal process will begin by the end of March 2017.

"The preparation is ongoing and we are ready to start the procedure under Art.50 of the EU Treaty by the end of March 2017," stated Theresa May during a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
