Istanbul hotels' revenue loss hits 1 billion euros in 2017 despite ease in security concerns: Association
Istanbul hotels' loss in revenue exceeded 1 billion euros in the first half of 2017 compared to the same period of 2015, despite a recent ease in security concerns, a leading sector association stated on July 31.
Istanbul again saw the largest revenue loss among all European destinations in 2017, the Hotels Association of Turkey (TÜROB) said in a statement, citing STR Global data.
Oil Hit 2-Month High on Tighter U.S. Market, Venezuela Sanctions Risk
Oil prices hit a two-month high on Monday, lifted by a tightening U.S. crude market and the threat of sanctions against OPEC-member Venezuela, Reuters reported.
Brent crude futures, the international benchmark for oil prices, were at $52.67 per barrel at 0247 GMT on Monday, up 15 cents or 0.3 percent. Prices hit $52.76 per barrel earlier in the day, their highest since May 25.
NSI: Total Producer Price Index in Industry in June 2017 Decreased by 0.2%
Total Producer Price Index in Industry in June 2017 decreased by 0.2% compared to the previous month. Lower prices were registered in the manufacturing by 0.3% and in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 0.1%, while in the mining and quarrying industry the prices rose by 0.8%, says the data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI).
Cheaper Gasoline and Diesel this Summer
Gasoline and diesel in Bulgaria have fallen by 2-3% this summer. This was announced by Andrei Delchev, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Petroleum and Gas Association. Reported Webcafe.
Until 2-3 years ago, prices have risen during the active summer season in Europe and North America due to high demand.

EU excludes Serbia from anti-dumping steel probe
The European Commission has excluded Serbia from an anti-dumping investigation into hot-rolled coil (HRC) imported from five countries, Tanjug has reported.
The agency cited a preliminary EC document seen by Metal Bulletin.

Gas Price Will Rise by 2% as of 1st of July
''There has been a steady downward trend in the world oil prices over the past month, but it still can not affect the price of gas in Bulgaria and get it lowered'', the chair of the Energy and Water Regulaory Commission Ivan Ivanov said on 27th of June after an open meeting of the regulator which discussed the increase in the price of natural gas by nearly 2% as of 1st of July, BNT reported.

Hotel occupancy rates in Istanbul soared in May, but the city's hotels remained to be the cheapest across Europe, according to a leading tourism association.
The Hotels Association of Turkey (TÜROB) also noted that hotel occupancy rates in the Mediterranean resort of Antalya continued to decline, despite the recent flock of Russian tourists into the province.
