Handelsblatt – Support for small and medium enterprises in Greece
An article in the German newspaper Handelsblatt mentions the incentives that the Greek government wants to give to small businesses to increase competitiveness.
The newspaper writes: "No other economy in the EU has as many small businesses as Greece. With tax breaks for mergers and acquisitions, the government now wants to change that."
WHO: Long Working Hours Increase Risk of Heart Attack and Stroke
Tapping away at the computer keyboard, and sitting for hours in the office chair, it's an image familiar to many, but the norm of working long hours is killing hundreds of thousands of people every year.
That's according to the World Health Organization, which warned Monday, that longer working hours is a worsening trend that may have intensified during the pandemic.
Reward system in the works for Greek civil servants
Civil servants will be rewarded for their productivity, Interior Minister Makis Voridis said on Wednesday.
Speaking to Open TV, Voridis noted that initiatives will be taken in the near future in order to create a reward mechanism so as "to instill a culture of meritocracy in public administration."
Turkey's industrial productivity rises in Q3
Turkey's industrial productivity increased by 2.84% year-on-year from July to September, the Industry and Technology Ministry said on Dec. 11.
Calendar adjusted index of production per person employed stood at 114.09 in the third quarter of 2020, rising from 110.23 in the same period last year, according to official figures.
