Istanbul Opera Festival kicks off
The 13th International Istanbul Opera Festival will start with the "7 Tenor" concert at Haliç Congress Center Open Air Stage on July 16. The event will feature four major opera works and a concert to be staged by the Ankara, Istanbul and Antalya State Opera and Ballet Directorates until July 30. All works within the scope of the festival will be staged at 9 p.m.

Visitors flock to Sümela Monastery after 6 years of restoration
Visitors have flocked to Sümela Monastery in the Black Sea province of Trabzon which was reopened in May 1, after the 6-years of restoration work.
While chapels, monks' rooms and cellars draw attention in the monastery, which was fully opened to visitors for the first time in its history, efforts to reach the secret chapel discovered during the restoration continue.

Centers formed to protect wildlife animals impacted by wildfires
Türkiye has decided to establish centers to protect and rehabilitate wildlife animals following the wildfires in the Aegean province of Muğla's Marmaris district, said Hüseyin Gökçe Meşe, an official from the Nature Conservation and National Parks (DKMP).
Record number of vehicles cross Osmangazi Bridge: Minister

Istanbul Airport listed busiest in Europe
Istanbul Airport was the busiest airport in Europe in May by traffic volume as it served a total of 5.7 million passengers, according to data from the Airports Council International (ACI).
London Heathrow, which welcomed 5.34 million travelers, ranked second, followed by Paris's Charles de Gaulle at 5.22 million passengers.

Building erected by lifting jack leans again: Locals
Locals in the Black Sea province of Karabük have said, a building that became known nationwide for leaning after the floods on June 27, had leaned once before more than two decades ago and was erected with the help of a lifting jack.
"A building owned by two brothers in the Tır village of the Yenice district leaned after the June floods," İHA News Agency reported on July 4.
