EBRD approves 25 mln euro loan to Srbija Voz for railway depots

BELGRADE - Serbia will further upgrade its railway infrastructure thanks to a 25 mln euro loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

"Srbija Voz, Serbia's national rail passenger operator, will use the loan to build a new regional depot in Nis and rehabilitate two existing ones in Zemun and Sombor," the EBRD said in a statement.

Russians to build three more rail lines on Corridor 10

Serbian Railways and Russian Railways (RZD) subsidiary RZD International inked an agreement in Belgrade on Tuesday.

It concerns reconstruction and modernization of three sections of Corridor 10 in southern Serbia, whose length totals 46 kilometers, scheduling the start of the construction works for the first quarter of 2016.

Serbian, Chinese, Hungarian railways sign memorandum

BELGRADE - The railway companies Zeleznice Srbije, Chinese Railway Corporation and Coroporation of Hungarian State Railways have signed a memorandum of understanding concerning a feasibility study for the Belgrade-Budapest railroad project, Zeleznice Srbije said on Sunday.

Head of Zeleznice Srbije Miroslav Stojcic signed the agreement for the company.
