Another furlough rejection for Koufodinas
Jailed terrorist Dimitris Koufodinas has had another furlough demand rejected by a court in Volos, central Greece, upholding a decision by his prison's parole board.
The hitman of the November 17 terrorist organization, who has been convicted to 11 consecutive life sentences over as many assassinations, had asked to spend Christmas at home in Attica.

Government to introduce new strategy against terrorism, violent extremism
The Greek governemnt will present in three months a national strategy to fight terrorism and violent extremism, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced on Monday, speaking at an event in Athens to honor of victims of terrorism in Greece.

Ν17 hitman submits new prison leave request
Dimitris Koufodinas, the convicted hitman of the November 17 terrorist group, submitted last week a fresh furlough request to the disciplinary board of the rural prison of Cassavetia, central Greece, where he is being held, a local news website reported Thursday.

PM, family mark 30 years since assassination of Pavlos Bakoyannis
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis commemorated the 30-year anniversary of the assassination of politician Pavlos Bakoyannis by the now-defunct terrorist group November 17 in downtown Athens in 1989.
"Thirty years without Pavlos Bakoyannis. We miss him always. He will never cease to inspire us," he wrote in a tweet on his official account.

Bid to stop dangerous felons from moving to rural prisons
The Greek government is considering amending legislation to prevent convicts serving time for terrorism and other serious crimes from securing transfers to agricultural prisons where security is less tight, Kathimerini understands.
The matter is to be discussed Thursday by government officials, with legislative amendments expected to be submitted in Parliament in the coming days.
PM remembers student Axarlian, killed by N17 terror group in 1992
In a message on Twitter, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis paid tribute to the student Thanos Axarlian who was the accidental victim of an attack by the now defunct terrorist group November 17 in 1992.
Axarlian died on Karageorgi Servias Street after being hit by a rocket that had been aimed at the then Finance Minister Yiannis Palaiocrassas.
