Earthquake Measuring 3,5 Registered in Blagoevgrad Region

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3,5 on the Richter scale and at a depth of 13 kilometers was registered on the territory of Blagoevgrad region (southwestern Bulgaria) this night at 02:31 am, reported the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

Light Earthquake Registered near Yakoruda, Southwestern Bulgaria

An earthquake was recorded this morning near Yakoruda, southwestern Bulgaria, reported the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography (NIGYG) of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS).

The quake was recorded at 5:23 a.m. this morning. According to initial data, it had a magnitude of 2.8 on the Richter scale and a depth of 12 km.

 

Light Earthquake of 2,9 Magnitude Registered in Bulgaria

Near the town of Batak, a small earthquake with magnitude 2.4 on the Richter scale was recorded at 10.09 am today, according to seismologists from the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography of BAS.

The earthquake was 9.4 kilometers from Batak, Pazardzhik region, and 119 kilometers from Sofia.

New Earthquake Registered in Greece, Close to Bulgarian Territory

An earthquake was registered early this morning in Greece, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences reported, quoted by Nova TV. The quake measured 3.1 on the Richter scale.

The quake occurred at 4:29 a.m. The epicenter is located 21.9 km northeast of Komotini, near Krumovgrad, about 244 km from Sofia.

Light Earthquake Registered in Haskovo

An earthquake measuring 2,9 on the Richter scale was registered in the region of Haskovo, southern Bulgaria.

The earth tremor was felt at 1.38 a.m. tonight with an epicenter 12 km southeast of Haskovo and 66 km south of Stara Zagora,

at a depth of 2 km. There are no reports of material damage, the European Seismological Centre said. /BGNES

Another Powerful Earthquake with Different Epicenter Rocks Greece

A new earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale shook central Greece at 20:38 on Thursday.

The epicenter was near the town of Elassona, which was hit on Wednesday by an earthquake measuring 6.0.

The National Observatory of Athens' Institute of Geodynamics reported that the new quake's epicenter was 16km southwest from Elassona proper, close to Larissa.

Strong Earthquake Rocks Central Greece

An earthquake was registered in central Greece today around 12 p.m. The epicenter of the quake was near the town of Larissa.

The Institute of Geophysics told BNR that the epicenter was at a depth of 10 km. The tremor was felt in many places in Bulgaria, including Kardzhali, Plovdiv and in Sofia highrise buildings.

There were no reports of casualties or damage.

4.2-Richter-degree earthquake in Buzau County

A 4.2-magnitude earthquake occurred on Saturday, near midnight, at 23:13 local time, in the Vrancea seismic area, Buzau County, according to data published by the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics (INCDFP). The earthquake occurred at a depth of 126 kilometers, and the intensity in the epicentral area was II Mercalli degrees.
