The US National Security Agency is scooping up large quantities of images of people for use in facial recognition programs, the New York Times reported Sunday, citing top secret documents.
Snowden 'Requested Asylum' in Brazil
Edward Snowden has applied for asylum in Brazil, as the former NSA contractor and whistleblower himself announced in an interview.
"If Brazil offers me asylum, then I'll gladly accept it. I would like to live in Brazil," the Moscow Times quotes him as saying on Brazilian television channel Globo News.

Brussels Jewish Museum Gunman Detained, Possible Jihadist Link
A 29-year old French citizen, Mehdi Nemmouche, has been arrested in connection with the shooting at a Jewish museum in Brussels, which left 3 people dead.
The man, who is suspected to be connected to a Syrian jihadist group, was caught on CCTV cameras and later detained at a train station in Marseille, Euronews reported.

Police in northern Greece bust up drug ring
Six suspects have been arrested, authorities in Serres, northeastern Greece, said on Monday as police cracked down on a Greek-Albanian criminal drugs racket.
Police said they are looking for another four suspects, including an Albanian national believed to be the leader of the organization.

Government adopts bill on travel documents
BELGRADE - The Serbian government adopted at Monday's session a bill amending the law on travel documents to make it compliant with European Union regulations.
The bill scraps the so-called exit visas, the government press office said.
Also scrapped are seaman's books and maritime passports, whose holders will be now able to travel with standard passports, the statement said.
