Greek authorities beef up police patrols

Police have announced a tightening of security around the country during the upcoming holiday season.

Among the measures announced were increased patrols at bus, train, tram and metro stations, in shopping areas and malls and outdoor markets.

Train stations, in particular, have been the target of anti-establishment groups in recent months.

Black Friday lifts consumer spirits

Shoppers crowd outside a central department store in the northern port city of Thessaloniki hoping to bag a bargain on the occasion of so-called Black Friday. The event, a day of discounts at stores which started in the United States for the day after Thanksgiving, lures consumers with generous discounts that can reach up to 80 percent.

“Red Night” at Glyfada as 100 violent protestors clashed with shoppers

The Municipality of Glyfada’s ‘Red Night’ shopping was supposed to be a festive Christmas event with shops open until midnight. Crowds gathered to welcome the event, but there were reactions by protestors opposed to extended shopping times. They clashed with shoppers who tried to enter stores.

Istanbul and Antalya have featured in a list of the world?s top shopping destinations for Muslim tourists in a report which provides detailed insights into their spending behavior while travelling. 

The MasterCard-CrescentRating Muslim Shopping Travel Index 2015 (MTSI 2015) has revealed Muslim travelers spent a total of $62 billion globally in shopping and dining. 

Croatia's Agrokor Launches Regional Online Shopping Platform

One of Croatia's biggest companies, Agrokor, a specialist in food production and sales, is launching a regional online shopping network towards the end of 2015 or at beginning of 2016.

Functioning along the lines of the well-known Chinese sales online platform Alibaba, A007 will start first in Croatia and then spread to the rest of the region.
