Bulgaria's Medieval Capital Hosts Chinese Culture Festival
A major Festival of Chinese Culture kicked off on Monday in Veliko Tarnovo, the medieval capital of Bulgaria, reports Xinhua.
First Chinese Singing Contest Held in Bulgaria
To encourage Chinese language learning and cultural exchanges with Bulgaria, the first Chinese singing contest was held in the country on Sunday, reports CGTN.
As many as 17 solo performers and six groups from across Bulgaria participated in the event, which was organized by the Confucius Institute in Sofia.

Bosnian Serbs Consider Chinese Lessons in Schools
The Republika Srpska Education Ministry will introduce the Chinese language as an optional subject in elementary and secondary schools this September if there are enough interested pupils, RS Education Minister Dane Malesevic told BIRN.

Monument to Confucius unveiled in Belgrade
A monument to Chinese philosopher Confucius was unveiled on Wednesday in Belgrade's Square of Serbian-Chinese Friendship.
The unveiling was done by Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali and Zhang Chunxian, a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China.

Free Chinese Cinema Festival to Take Place in Sofia
The Festival of Contemporary Chinese Cinema will take place in Bulgaria's capital between 6 and 13 February.
Everyone interested in the Chinese culture and arts will have the opportunity to watch all nine movies for free. The predominant genre of the selection is drama, but several thrillers and comedies can also be seen.
