Floods Start Receding in Central Croatia
The floods are slowly receding in the Sisak area of central Croatia, where the river Sava is going down after water levels reached record heights.
Villages surrounding Sisak, such as Letovanic and Zazina, are still battling floods, however, and in some places riverbanks are continuing to overflow.

Croatia Increases Police Chief’s War Crimes Sentence
Former police commander Vladimir Milankovic, convicted of offences that led to the deaths of 24 Serb civilians in Sisak during wartime, had his sentence increased from eight to ten years.
Euro Court Raps Croatia Over Serb’s Murder
The European Court of Human Rights ordered Croatia to pay 20,000 euro in damages for not properly investigating the wartime killing of a Serb civilian from the town of Sisak.
