Increases in the social security contributions of freelancers, the self-employed and farmers are expected to end up at between 3.9% and 4% on an annual basis for next year.

A pilot program to transfer unemployed workers to areas they are needed during winter will be introduced by DYPA, the Greek employment agency, Labor and Social Insurance Minister Adonis Georgiadis said on Open TV on Monday.

Some 1,985,000 workers in the private sector will see salary increases early in 2021, as a result of the reduction of social insurance contributions that takes effect this Friday, January 1, Labor Minister Yiannis Vroutsis told Alpha Radio on Monday.

Moreover, several positive changes in the country's social insurance system are also in the pipeline, he added.

The average insurance income for the country for February is BGN 860.14, the National Social Security Institute reports.

The average monthly insurance income for the period from 1 March 2017 to 28 February 2018 is BGN 832,60.

The average insured income for the country in August 2017 is BGN 804.44, the National Statistical Institute reported.

The average monthly insurance income for the country for the period from 01.09.2016 to 31.08.2017 is BGN 801.86.

The average monthly insured income for the country in July 2017 is BGN 811.75.

The average monthly insurance income for the country for the period from 01.08.2016 to 31.07.2017 is BGN 797.70, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) has reported.
