41 Years since the Flight of the First Bulgarian Astronaut Georgi Ivanov

Today marks the 41st anniversary of the flight of the first Bulgarian astronaut Georgi Ivanov.

On April 10, 1979, at 8 pm and 34 minutes Moscow time, a Soyuz-33 spacecraft with an international crew was launched into orbit around the Earth: flight commander Nikolai Rukavishnikov and astronaut-researcher Georgi Ivanov.

Bulgaria Extradites Russian Hacker to US: Embassy

Bulgaria has extradited a Russian indicted by a US court for mounting a complex hacking scheme to the United States, the Russian embassy in Washington said Saturday, reported AFP

The Russian embassy, in a statement on its VK social network, said Alexander Zhukov had been extradited on January 18 and was being held in a jail in Brooklyn, New York.

Russian Hacker Arrested in Bulgaria for Ad Fraud of over $7 Million

Bulgarian police have arrested a supposed Russian hacker at the request of US authorities on charges of committing advertising fraud of over $7 million.

The supposed hacker is named Alexander Zhukov, a Saint Petersburg native who's been living in Varna, Bulgaria, since 2010, according to Russian newspaper Kommersant, which first reported the arrest, reports ZDNet.

Russia Marking 75th Anniversary Of Bloody Battle Of Stalingrad

Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to attend ceremonies in the city formerly known as Stalingrad as it marks the 75th anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles in World War II.

The ceremonies in the city now known as Volgograd on February 2 will feature a parade with 75 tanks -- one for each year since the victory.
