Preparations Underway to Remove Fuel Oil from Sunken Ship near Sozopol

Sofia. Preparations are underway to remove the fuel oil from the sunken ship near Sozopol, work will begin when the weather conditions allow it, the head of Maritime Administration Burgas, Zhivko Petrov, told Focus News Agency. The preparations include a diving chamber, a storage area for bottles, compressors, auxiliary boats, etc.

Remnants of Ancient Fortress Found Underwater off Bulgaria's Coast

Minister of Tourism: 'Four Beach Concessions will be Suspended'

''Termination of a total of four concession contracts on beaches is forthcoming. Two contracts will be suspended for system violations. These are the beaches "Central Beach Sozopol" and "Sunny day". This was pointed out by Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova. She explained that these tenants did  not paid the concession payments.

On July 23, the District Administration in Sozopol received a report of an incident in a bar in the resort town where after the fight four men were injured - 35, 36, 18 and 20 respectively from Blagoevgrad, Sozopol, Bourgas and from Pleven, the press center of the Ministry of Interior announced.

Antique Artifacts and their Stories on Sozopol's Past

Artifacts from the Apollonia Pontica antique necropolis in the Budjaka area of the Black Sea port town of Sozopol were among the most impressive findings at the 10th national exhibition named Bulgarian Archaeology. Dr. Margarita Popova from the National Museum of History and Dr. Teodora Bogdanova from the Archaeological Museum of Sozopol headed the excavations.
