Sofia. Preparations are underway to remove the fuel oil from the sunken ship near Sozopol, work will begin when the weather conditions allow it, the head of Maritime Administration Burgas, Zhivko Petrov, told Focus News Agency. The preparations include a diving chamber, a storage area for bottles, compressors, auxiliary boats, etc.

PanARMENIAN.Net - Underwater exploration around St Thomas Island on Bulgaria's southern Black Sea coast by a team of specialist archaeological divers has led to the finding of what are believed to be the remnants of a wall of an ancient Thracian fortification, The Sofia Globe reports.

Burgas. For the last 2-3 days, a liquid has been leaking from an old sunken ship near Sozopol, 7-8 km from the shore, Burgas Governor Valcho Cholakov told Focus News Agency. In a press release, the regional administration said that it is fuel oil.

There are still many beautiful hidden locations on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, which are wild, without hotels and roaming tourists. Such are the beaches of the islands in the sea. Here are five islands in the Black Sea that bear saint names:

Island of St. Peter

Discovering two new graves and foundations of buildings marked the end of archaeological summer 2017 on the island of St. Ivan near Sozopol, reported the Bulgarian National TV.

''Termination of a total of four concession contracts on beaches is forthcoming. Two contracts will be suspended for system violations. These are the beaches "Central Beach Sozopol" and "Sunny day". This was pointed out by Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova. She explained that these tenants did  not paid the concession payments. 

The Tourism Coordination Council, which was convened in the city of Bourgas by Deputy Prime Minister Valeri Simeonov on 14th of August announced the results of the inspections carried out in the past days in the summer resort of Sunny Beach at the Bulgarian seaside coast, reported BNT. 

On July 23, the District Administration in Sozopol received a report of an incident in a bar in the resort town where after the fight four men were injured - 35, 36, 18 and 20 respectively from Blagoevgrad, Sozopol, Bourgas and from Pleven, the press center of the Ministry of Interior announced.

Over 1,100 cruise passengers arrived at Burgas port with the first in 2017 cruise ship tour, BNR reported.

Most of the tourists travelling on Costa Neo Riveira ship are French nationals. All tourists are elderly couples who choose to visit cultural and historical destinations in Bulgaria such as Sozopol, Nessebar, Kotel and Tryavna.

Artifacts from the Apollonia Pontica antique necropolis in the Budjaka area of the Black Sea port town of Sozopol were among the most impressive findings at the 10th national exhibition named Bulgarian Archaeology. Dr. Margarita Popova from the National Museum of History and Dr. Teodora Bogdanova from the Archaeological Museum of Sozopol headed the excavations.
