A masterpiece by a prominent 20th-century Turkish poet became the second most widely-read poem in the world, according to a Berlin-based multi-lingual poetry platform.

Greek author and columnist Yiannis Kakoulides succumbed to his battle with cancer at the age of 69 years. The award-winning author wrote poetry, prose, scripts and lyrics for over 500 well-known Greek songs.
