Stavros Niarchos Foundation donates to offset crisis challenges
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation announced that its Board decided to allocate 100 million euros to help combat the adverse effects of the Greek economic crisis. Chairman of the Board Andreas Drakopoulos announced that this amount had been benchmarked for Greece’s impoverished groups at the opening of the 4th Conference on Welfare Action in Athens.
Gov’t plays down delay of capital revamp projects
Infrastructure Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis on Monday played down calls by the European Commission for two EU-subsidized regeneration projects for the broader Athens area to be postponed, noting that the EC had simply expressed reservations and that the works would go ahead.

Work at new Athens cultural center gathering pace
It was revealed on Thursday that the outer shell of buildings at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center should be completed by July 28.
The planting of trees and shrubs on the 17-hectare site is due to begin in May. Around 1,100 construction workers are involved in the 566-million-euro project.
