Oxfam says richest one percent to own more than rest by 2016

Two homeless men injured in fire in squat
Two homeless men had to be rushed to hospital after a fire broke out in an abandoned building they were sleeping in in the central Athenian suburb of Votanikos.
One of the men had suffered burns and the other was having breathing problems when emergency medical crews arrived at the scene.

US stocks were slightly slower in opening trade Tuesday, falling with European equity markets on political uncertainty in eurozone member Greece.
Five minutes into trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average stood at 18,008.31, down 29.92 points (0.17 percent).

SDOE raids continue over holiday season
The number of inspectors dispatched by Greeces Financial Police (SDOE) to check whether businesses are complying with the law over the holiday season has been increased, with the first round of the raids over the week before and during Christmas revealing that the majority of law breakers did not issue sales receipts or employed workers who were uninsured.

The Council of Ministers announced on Monday that the President of the State Agency for Refugees Nikolay Chirpanliev has been dismissed.
Chirpanliev's deputy Vasil Varbanov will take over as acting head until the appointment of a new holder.
