Hellas Gold staff call two-day strike as deadline looms
The Canadian mining company Eldorado Gold and the government appeared to remain at loggerheads Wednesday over mines in northern Greece whose operation Eldorado has threatened to suspend unless Greek authorities issue a series of pending licenses.
Turkey issues navtexes booking areas in the Aegean Sea
Just a few hours after Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias was invited by his counterpart to visit Turkey next month, Turkish authorities issued a series of navigational telexes (navtexes) Wednesday, reserving areas in the central and eastern Aegean.

Migrant inflows exceed 2,400 in September so far
The number of migrants and refugees that have landed on Greek shores in the Aegean has surpassed 2,400 since the start of September, the ANA-MPA news agency reported on Monday.
From Thursday and until Monday morning, around 600 people made the crossing from Turkey, with the majority landing on the island of Lesvos - 288 were registered for processing at the official hot spot.

Greece convicted over poor waste management
The European Court of Justice on Thursday convicted Greece of failing to meet European waste management and drainage standards in four towns in the country's north and one in central Greece.
The conviction relates to the towns of Prosotsani and Doxato in Drama, Eleftheroupoli in Kavala, Galatista in Halkidiki and Vagia in Viotia.

Investments facing problems at Halkidiki, Elliniko, airports

Canadian mining company Eldorado Gold on Monday threatened to suspend a major investment in Greece in ten days, accusing the government of delaying permits and licenses.
One of Greece's largest foreign investors, Eldorado operates mines in northern Greece that have faced vehement opposition from parts of local communities on environmental grounds, with protests often turning violent.
