SYRIZA leader Stefanos Kasselakis has called on his MPs to formulate a "National Plan for the Greek Dream" as the party gathered on the island of Spetses for a three-day retreat. 

It is understood that the main opposition leader opened proceedings by telling his MPs that the meeting would be a productive and creative discussion and exchange of viewpoints among equals.

Greece's center-right government will soon submit legislation allowing same-sex civil marriages, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in Davos, Switzerland on Friday, voicing his optimism that the law will be voted in Parliament next month.

SYRIZA leader Stefanos Kasselakis has refuted a report alleging that he requested the removal of posters featuring Alexis Tsipras, a former prime minister and his predecessor as the head of the party, from the walls of the main opposition headquarters in Koumoundourou Square.

Indicatively, ND lawmaker Antonis Samaras, a former conservative prime minister, said he opposed the choice of Premier Kyriakos Mitsotakis to suggest the solution of abstention to dissenting MPs. 

The leader of the main opposition, Stefanos Kasselakis, warned on Saturday that SYRIZA lawmakers who vote against a proposed government bill legalizing same-sex marriage risk getting expelled.

Greece's main opposition welcomed on Friday the appointment of the new chiefs of Armed Forces staff, saying the party "stands by them".

The leader of the left-wing opposition party SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis, is scheduled to meet with the head of the Orthodox Church of Greece, Archbishop Ieronymos, on Saturday at 10 a.m.

We have not witnessed such confusion since 1952, when Georgios Papandreou ran as a candidate MP with the Ellinikos Synagermos (Greek Rally) party of Field Marshal Alexandros Papagos.
