Over 100 000 Romanians Expected to Visit Bulgaria over Easter Holiday

Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova expects more than 100 000 Romanians to visit Bulgaria during the forthcoming Orthodox Easter.

Angelkova said this in the city of Varna on Friday at the start of a series of meetings across the country initiated by her, which are to assess the readiness for the forthcoming summer season.

Migration crisis offsets benefit from Greece being a safe destination

The perception of Greece as a tourism destination is deteriorating in the British, German and American markets as a result of the refugee and migration crisis, an Internet survey has found.

The survey was conducted by independent British firm Censuwide for the Association of Hellenic Tourism Enterprises (SETE).

Greek Cyprus tourism heads for record

Bailed-out Greek Cyprus recorded a 40-percent hike in tourist arrivals in March, setting the stage for a record year for the holiday island and indicating an economic revival, official data showed on April 18.

Tourist arrivals already hit a 14-year high in 2015 reaching 2.65 million, on the back of a cheaper euro. 

Antalya sees 40 pct decline in reservations this year: Association

The Mediterranean resort of Antalya has seen losses of around 40 percent in the number of reservations over this year compared to the previous year, as security concerns and the diplomatic row with Russia have continued to hit the tourism sector, according to the head of a leading association.
