Turkish offensive into north-eastern Syria

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will highlight NATO's responsibility in jointly fighting terrorism with expectations that the support given to the YPG in northern Syria by some allies should be ended without delay during NATO's foreign ministerial meeting in Brussels on April 3 and 4.

The Turkish security forces "neutralized" 14 PKK/YPG terrorists in the Operation Euphrates Shield area in Syria's north, the Defense Ministry has announced.

The ministry statement on Jan. 22 noted that the operation targeted the members of the terror organizations who opened harassing fire on Turkish security forces. 

The Turkish security forces "neutralized" 17 PKK terrorists in the Operation Claw-Lock area in northern Iraq and several other operation areas in Syria's north, the Defense Ministry has announced.

In a written statement on X on Jan. 21, the ministry noted that the Turkish forces conducted an airstrike targeting the 10 terrorists in the operation area.

Three PKK terrorists have been "neutralized" in northern Syria, while one PKK member has been caught at the Syria border, the Defense Ministry has announced.

The three neutralized PKK terrorists were detected to be preparing an attack in the "Operation Peace Spring" region in northern Syria.

The Defense Ministry has announced on consecutive days that a total of 11 PKK members were neutralized in preemptive strikes targeting potential attacks within Türkiye's operational zones in northern Syria.

In the wake of deadly attacks by the PKK that claimed the lives of 12 Turkish soldiers, the Defense Ministry has reported an escalation in retaliation efforts, with the number of terrorists neutralized since rising to 56.

The Turkish Defense Ministry has confirmed that six PKK terrorists, suspected of planning an attack in northern Syria, have been neutralized by the Turkish military.

The Defense Ministry has announced the neutralization of three PKK/YPG terrorists who were reportedly preparing to launch an attack in the Euphrates Shield Operation region situated in northern Syria.

"We do not leave the terrorist attempts to attack unanswered," the ministry declared in a statement on Aug. 21.

Turkish security forces have "neutralized" a total of 995 PKK/YPG terrorists since the beginning of the year within the intensified operations, including ones conduced across the border in Iraq and northern Syria, the Defense Ministry has announced.

The Defense Ministry on July 30 reported that 12 PKK/YPG terrorists have been neutralized in northern Syria during a military operation in the region.
