First ever tweet turns 15 years old

Fifteen years ago Jack Dorsey typed out a banal message - "just setting up my twttr" - which became the first-ever tweet, launching a global platform that has become a controversial and dominant force in civil society.

The short tweet on March 21, 2006, by the Twitter CEO is now being sold at auction, with bidding reaching $2.5 million.

"After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence," the company said in a tweet.

Greek soldiers released from Turkish jail pending trial

Two Greek servicemen who had been detained in Turkey since early March for accidentally crossing the border in bad weather have been released from jail pending trial, Anadolu agency reported on Tuesday evening.

According to Anadolu, a court examined the request for their release and ruled there are no reasons to keep them behind bars.
