Social media app TweetDeck has begun going behind a paywall on, with users of platform X, formerly known as Twitter, being diverted to a paid-subscription sign-up page when they tried to access it.

First ever tweet turns 15 years old
Fifteen years ago Jack Dorsey typed out a banal message - "just setting up my twttr" - which became the first-ever tweet, launching a global platform that has become a controversial and dominant force in civil society.
The short tweet on March 21, 2006, by the Twitter CEO is now being sold at auction, with bidding reaching $2.5 million.

Twitter founder’s auction of a tweet draws $2 million bid
Twitter boss Jack Dorsey is selling his first tweet at auction, with bidding on March 6 reaching $2 million in a sign of the appetite for virtual objects authenticated through blockchain technology.
"just setting up my twttr," Dorsey tweeted on March 21, 2006.

"After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence," the company said in a tweet.

Greek soldiers released from Turkish jail pending trial
Two Greek servicemen who had been detained in Turkey since early March for accidentally crossing the border in bad weather have been released from jail pending trial, Anadolu agency reported on Tuesday evening.
According to Anadolu, a court examined the request for their release and ruled there are no reasons to keep them behind bars.
Dethroned Miss Turkey acquitted over coup attempt tweet
The winner of Miss Turkey 2017, who was previously dethroned over a tweet she posted about the July 2016 coup attempt, was acquitted of all charges on May 3.
