German defense minister due in Athens and Cyprus
German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen is due Tuesday in Athens, where she will meet with her recently appointed Greek counterpart, Evangelos Apostolakis.
She will also meet with opposition New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis and address an event at the Constantinos Karamanlis Institute for Democracy.

"After everything Germany has done to our country, I think, they should not talk on the issue for another two hundred years. Ask your grandparents about their experience of talking to Russia from the position of strength. They will probably be able to tell you," he said.

Berlin eyes deal for migrant returns with Greece by end July
Even as Germany's interior minister Horst Seehofer threatens the launch of mass returns of migrants if bilateral agreements are not achieved, German defense minister Ursula von der Leyen has suggested that such an accord with Greece may be signed by the end of the month.
NATO will Build a New Command Center in Germany
NATO plans to build a new planning, logistics and command center that will be on German territory, DPA reported.
The initiative is from the German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen. The new center will be located in the Cologne-Bonn region, North Rhine Westphalia.
The place is suitable because there is the headquarters of the Bundeswehr united forces.

Defense minister meets German counterpart amid tension
Defense Minister Fikri Işık met his German counterpart Ursula Von Der Leyen on June 29 amid dispute between the two nations over the withdrawal of Germany's military deployment in the İncirlik air base in southern Turkey.
The two ministers came together on the sidelines of a NATO meeting in Brussels.

The relocation to Jordan of German troops stationed at the İncirlik air base in southern Turkey will start by the end of this month, Germany's defense minister has said.
Germany considering Cyprus for anti-ΙS base
German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen has said her office has drafted a list of eight locations, among them Cyprus, where it could move aircraft supporting the anti-IS mission if Turkey continues to block German lawmakers from visiting troops at the Incirlik base.
Talks with Turkey are still ongoing, she said.
