Lake replenished with snowmelt in Turkey's Konya
A famous lake in Central Anatolian that had largely dried up has been replenished with runoff from snow, Doğan News Agency has reported.
Meke Lake in the Karapınar district, which is known as the "world's evil eye talisman," had begun to dry up due to drought brought on by excessive agricultural irrigation that had reduced the ground water that fed the lake.

Iceberg the size of Mali ready to be detached from the Antarctica
A 5000 sq km iceberg, approximately the size of the island of Mali in Indonesia, is ready to be detached from West Antarctica.
According to scientists from the Swansea University in the UK, the iceberg is among the 10 biggest ever recorded and its surface is 85 times bigger than Manhattan!

Turkish officials have warned of storms and heavy snowfall across Turkey, including Istanbul, for Jan. 6 as wintry weather continues to hit the country.
According to the General Directorate of Meteorology, heavy snow will fall in Istanbul on Jan. 6, with temperatures expected to plunge by up to eight degrees to -5 Celsius and snow expected to continue for three days.
