At 90, Shatner became the oldest man to reach “where no man has gone before”

Hollywood's Captain Kirk, 90-year-old William Shatner, blasted into space on Oct. 13 in a convergence of science fiction and science reality, reaching the final frontier aboard a ship built by Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin company.

Leonard Nimoy, the actor known and loved by generations of "Star Trek" fans as the pointy-eared, purely logical science officer Mr. Spock, has died.
                   
Nimoy died Feb. 27 of end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at his Los Angeles home, said his son, Adam Nimoy. He was 83.
