Maze denies Austrians for second title

Slovenia's Tina Maze continued her quest to win five medals, clinching gold in the super combined Feb. 9 at the World Ski Championships to spoil Austria's bid for a podium sweep.
      
The 31-year-old World Cup points leader added to her medal haul at the worlds, which includes gold in the downhill and silver in Super-G.
     

Bulgaria Fails to Compete in Men's Relay at Biathlon Euro Championship

Surprisingly, Bulgaria did not compete in the men's relay race at the Biathlon European Championship in Otepaa, Estonia on Tuesday.

Only three Bulgarian biathletes were available to compete in the 4 x 7.5 kilometre relay race - Vladimir Iliev, Dimitar Partalov and Dimitar Gerdzhikov, daily Sega reports.

Three Skiers Represent Bulgaria at 2015 Alpine World Ski Championship

Bulgaria is to be represented by three skiers at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championship that takes place in Vail/Beaver Creek in Colorado between February 2 and 15.

The three Bulgarians, who are to compete in the giant slalom and the slalom in the second half of the championship, are Albert Popov, Stefan Prisadov and Maria Kirkova, daily Dnevnik reports.

Hargin trumps Hirscher in slalom

Sweden's Mattias Hargin took advantage of a botched second leg by home favourite Marcel Hirscher to claim a maiden World Cup victory in Sunday's Kitzbuehel slalom.
      
Hirscher, the reigning world slalom champion and 2013 winner here, led after the first leg but a mistake halfway down the second run saw his time deficit overturned to hand Hargin a memorable triumph.
