Five Cities to Compete for Hosting 2022 Winter Olympics
Five cities have submitted their bids for hosting the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
The applicant cities are Oslo (Norway), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Lviv (Ukraine), Beijing (China), and Krakow (Poland).
The executive board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will decide in July which cities will be accepted officially as Candidate Cities.
Bulgaria’s Zhekova Finishes Snowboard Season 3rd
Bulgaria’s Alexandra Zhekova finished 3rd in the final standings of the snowboard cross World Cup.
Zhekova finished 5th during Saturday’s final race at La Molina, Spain. However, “Sani” was able to move ahead of Russia’s injured Eva Samkova in the final standings.

Bulgarian President in Sochi for Closing Ceremony
Bulgaria's President Rosen Plevneliev is in Sochi for the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games.
The head of state arrived in Sochi on Saturday, where he met with the Bulgarian athletes who are still at the Games, as well as the broadcasting team of the Bulgarian National Television. Later he watched the men's relay in the biathlon, where Bulgaria finished 15th.

Two Olympic Athletes Sent Home for Doping
Two Olympic athletes were sent home from Sochi on Friday after having failed doping tests.
German biathlete Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle and Italian bobsleigher William Frullani tested positive for methylhexanamine with A and B samples.
